It was hot and sunny today, but the kids were happy as always.
There were two tournaments today - B10 (boys going into 10th) played SOCCER at Camp Lenox. They won their first game, then lost two. The B8 Baseball (going into 8th) played baseball at Greylock and did very well, but lost in the semis finals by only two.
We changed today's afternoon schedule to ensure all of the campers spent some afternoon time in the water. We split the periods up between pool and lake so everyone could cool off.
As we close out the first week of camp, the campers were able to pick their next round of activities. Many chose to repeat what they've loved while others went with new options like Taekwondo, kickboxing, Survivor Island, video editing, competitive climbing, competitive swimming, junior lifeguard course, and beach volleyball.
We officially held our first Friday night huddle, which was all about RESPECT. Jamie spoke to the group around the fire and a handful of campers and counselors were recognized for showing incredible respect this first week of camp. The group was nominated by both counselors and campers.
Evening Activity was the annual, all-camp USA vs. Canada roller hockey game. Any campers who didn't play cheered the rest of the kids on. It was a great game, and Canada took the win 5-2 (for the 3rd year in a row)
